How we work

From napkin sketch to launch day

Every project runs through the same five-stage forge, so you always know what is being built, what it costs, and when it ships.

  1. 01

    Discovery jam

    Week 1

We spend a week with you pinning down the core loop, art direction, and target platforms, then hand back a one-page game brief and fixed quote.

  2. 02

    Prototype forge

    Weeks 2–3

A playable grey-box build lands in your hands within a fortnight so you can feel the mechanic before a single sprite is painted.

  3. 03

    Art & audio pass

    Weeks 4–8

Our ligne-claire illustrators and chiptune composers dress the prototype in its final look, sound, and juicy game feel.

  4. 04

    Playtest & polish

    Weeks 9–12

We run fortnightly playtests with real players from our Smith Street studio, fixing bugs and tuning difficulty against live feedback.

  5. 05

    Launch & liveops

    Launch + 90 days

We handle store pages, build submission, and the first 90 days of patches so your launch window stays smooth.

What partners say after launch

A few words from developers, publishers, and brands we have shipped alongside.

BinaryPlayForge turned our vague pitch into a wishlisted Steam demo in ten weeks. The fortnightly playtests at their Fitzroy studio kept the whole team honest about what was actually fun.

Questions before we forge

The things partners ask most before a project kicks off. Still stuck? Send us a note below.

Projects & pricing

Most full builds start at AU$18,000 for a focused vertical slice and scale with scope from there. After the discovery jam you receive a fixed, itemised quote in Australian dollars, so there are no surprise invoices mid-project.

No. You retain full ownership of all source code, art, and audio we produce for you. We only ask to feature the finished title in our studio portfolio unless the project is under NDA.

Process & timelines

A grey-box playable build is usually in your hands within two weeks of the discovery jam. We prioritise proving the core loop is fun before any art production begins.

Absolutely. We run fortnightly playtests at our Smith Street studio in Fitzroy and you are welcome to sit in or dial in remotely. Your notes feed directly into the next build.

After launch

Every full-cycle build includes 90 days of post-launch liveops, covering bug patches, small balance tweaks, and storefront support. After that we offer ongoing retainers if you want us to keep updating the game.

Yes. Porting and optimisation starts at AU$6,500 per platform and includes hitting frame-rate targets and passing platform certification for Switch, PlayStation, or Xbox.
